Cabinet Refacing vs. Replacement in Spring Branch
$6,000–$35,000 per kitchen
$6,000–$35,000 per kitchen
"Cabinet refacing" — keeping the existing boxes and swapping only the doors, drawer fronts, and hardware — can be a fit for cabinets that are still square and structurally sound. It's a different scope than what we do: H&E supplies and installs full cabinet replacement, stocked and semi-custom lines, from our Spring Branch showroom just around the corner from most kitchens in the neighborhood. For the 1950s–1970s cabinet boxes common in Spring Branch, refacing often isn't the better value once labor is factored in — these original boxes have frequently settled or shifted with the house, and drawer boxes from that era rarely hold up well behind new fronts. A full replacement lets us correct for that settling during install and adds soft-close hinges and full-extension glides throughout, not just on the visible face. Stocked shaker and semi-custom lines are on display at the showroom for same-week measurement appointments. Spring Branch kitchen cabinet replacement typically runs $8,000–$20,000 depending on layout and door style; bath vanity cabinet swaps start around $1,200 installed.
Prices shown are estimates for typical Spring Branch jobs. Actual cost depends on job complexity, materials, and permit requirements.
